How to Subscribe E-IPO?

There are 4 different methods which an investor can adopt to subscribe to E-IPOs. All of these methods are explained step by step with visuals to make it easier for investors to understand the whole registration and subscription process.

Method 1: Subscription to IPOs by Investor himself.

Investor registers himself and subscribes to securities being offered in an IPO. To register yourself and subscribe to the securities being offered in an IPO as an investor, go to: https://eipo.psx.com.pk/EIPO/home/index and follow the given steps.

  1. To register yourself, you have to click on register from the navigation bar.

  3. Now if you are an individual investor select individual but if you are a corporate investor then select corporate. After making your selection, fill out the information on the given form. At the end of the form you have an option to go through the terms & conditions. Once you have read and agreed to the terms and conditions, you can simply click on register now.

  5. Once registered, you will get a One-Time Password (OTP) on your mobile number. Enter the OTP and click on verify.

  7. Once you have entered the OTP, you will get an email. From that email you will be required to select a password for your account. Once you select a password for your account, you will receive another email which will verify that your registration was successful. You will also get a text message on your mobile phone containing a PIN CODE. Keep this pin code safe as you will be required to enter this pin for the subscription in IPO.

  9. Once the registration process is completed, you will be redirected to the login page where you can login using your CNIC, recently set password and a captcha for verification. After entering these details, click on Login which will take you to the investor homepage.

  11. Now to see the listings, whose IPOs are available simply click on quick links from navigation bar and go to recent issues.

  13. Now from the given listings, select the IPO where you want to invest. Now you will see the details of the issue you selected and afterward you can simply click on the subscribe button to subscribe to the issue.

  15. Now to subscribe to the issue, you have to select one of the three options i.e. CDC Investor Account, CDC Facilitation Account or CDC Participant Account. If you have an investor account with CDC select CDC investor account, if you have an account with the broker you can select CDC participant account and you will have to enter your sub CDC account no and select the name of your broker from the drop down menu of participant name. Finally, if you do not have an investor or participant account, then select CDC Facilitation Account and enter the quantity (number) that you want to subscribe to. Lastly, click on submit and now the pin code that was previously sent on your mobile phone via SMS. Enter the pin code and click on submit.

  17. To complete your subscription, you have to make your payment. You can pay either through one link or NIFT. If you select one link then you can use channels like Atm, internet banking, mobile banking, mobile wallets and OTC etc. to make your payment.

  19. If you select NIFT, then you will see the page of NIFT e-pay page which is also a safe payment option. On this page, you have to enter the required information and after that click on send OTP.

  21. Once you receive OTP on your mobile phone, enter that on NIFT page and click on pay after which you will be informed that your transaction was completed.

Method 2: Investor authorizing his broker to subscribe on his behalf.

Investor can authorize his broker to subscribe to securities being offered in an IPO on his behalf.To use method 2, follow the steps given below:

  1. From the investor homepage, go to quick links from the navigation bar and click on my participant. Now click on add participant.

  3. After clicking on add participant, now you have to select the broker that you have a sub-account with. Now you have given the permission to your broker to request an E-IPO on your behalf.

Method 3: Registration and Subscription by banks on Investor's behalf.

Banks can register their clients and subscribe to securities being offered in an IPO on their behalf.To use method 3, follow the steps given below:

  1. If an investor contacts his/her bank for registration and the subscription of IPO, the bank will have to login using their username, password and captcha.

  3. After clicking on add participant, now you have to select the broker that you have a sub-account with. Now you have given the permission to your broker to request an E-IPO on your behalf.

  5. If a bank clicks on bank defined investors, the screen with the users will open where the bank can simply click on view user to view the information of the user. From that page the bank can click on the subscribe issue

  7. After clicking on the subscribe issue, the page with the E-IPO listings will open and now the bank can click on the issue where the investor wants to invest.

  9. After clicking on any issue, the bank can view the information of the issue. To subscribe to any issue, the bank will have to choose either one of the two options. If the investor has an investor account with CDC, the bank will opt for the option of CDC Investor Account. If the investor does not have an investor account with CDC, then the bank will opt for CDC Facilitation Account. After making this choice, the bank has to enter the quantity (number) to which the investor wants to subscribe. Finally, the bank should click on the submit button. After clicking on the submit button the bank will need to enter the pin code which was previously sent to the mobile number of the investor via SMS.

  11. To complete the subscription, the bank has to make the payment. Bank can pay either through one link or NIFT. If the bank selects one link then it can use channels like Atm, internet banking, mobile banking, mobile wallets and OTC etc. to make the payment. 13
  12. If the bank selects NIFT, then the bank will see the NIFT epay page which is also a safe payment option. On this page, the bank has to enter the required information and after that click on send OTP.

  14. The investor will receive the OTP on his mobile number, which the bank has to enter on NIFT epay page and click on pay to complete the transaction. After clicking on pay, the bank will be informed that the transaction was completed.

  16. If the bank wants to view the subscription summary (details) of any account holder, the bank can go back to the home screen and click on subscribed applications.

Method 4: Subscription by brokers on their sub-account holder's behalf.

Brokers can register their sub-account holders and subscribe to securities being offered in an IPO on their behalf.To use method 4, follow the steps given below:

  1. If an investor contacts his/her broker for registration and the subscription of IPO, the broker will have to login using their username, password and captcha.
  2. 12
  3. After logging in, the broker can view the home screen. To register a new investor, the broker can either opt for a new investor option or trec defined investors from the home screen.

  5. If a broker clicks on trec defined investors a new page will appear. If a broker wants to request an E-IPO on behalf of an investor, then the broker has to click on the view user button for that specific investor. Now the details of that investor will open where the broker has to click on the subscribe issue button.

  7. After clicking on the subscribe issue, the page with the E-IPO listings will open and now broker can click on the issue where the investor wants to invest.

  9. To subscribe to the issue, the broker has to enter the CDC sub-account number in the given field. The broker also has to enter the quantity (number) to which the investor wants to subscribe to. Lastly, the broker has to click on the submit button and enter the pin code which was provided during the registration process.
